Families are all a little different. In Charlotte’s family, they never stay in one place too long, her mother never stays with one man for too long, and dinner consists of finger sandwiches with marshmallow kabobs. Catholicism-obsessed teenager Charlotte tries to navigate a new home and new school with the added bonus of being more mature than her own mother… who just so happens to be attracted to anything male that moves. That may also include the local boy that’s got Charlotte ready to lose her religion.

It’s been a challenge to get everyone together lately, so we take a quick break from our regular schedule, but not from 1989. John features two movies he found recently on Tubi.tv — the Hulk Hogan classic (?) No Holds Barred and the Corey Feldman/Corey Haim coming of age movie Dream A Little Dream.
There are movies that come in and out of our lives, but sometimes there are films that can remind us, decades later, what it’s like to be a kid discovering certain truths about the world for the first time. Stand By Me is one such movie.
