Some have called it “The Year Comics Grew Up” and arguably 1986 stands as the most pivotal year for the modern comic book industry. So many of the stories and character changes that occurred then have affected the mythos of the characters, whether in comic book, animated, or live action form. John flies solo this time to talk a little bit about 1986 in comics!
Part 2 of our Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice coverage. Did Batfleck succeed? Was Wonder Woman wonderful? Was Doomsday doomed? Will Captain America: Civil War be the best Batman v Superman movie ever?
After a three year wait, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was released last week. So far the reviews from fans and critics have been polarizing. Is it as bad as the critics want you to believe? Is it one of the best superhero movies of all time, as some of the fans have stated? You could be the judge… but listen to us judge first, then you can judge all you want.
This discussion also ended up longer than we expected, so we’re releasing two episodes this week: Part 1 and Part 2 of our BvS review/debate.
NOTE: This post got waaay too long, so I’ll divide it up and release over the next few days. There was a lot on my mind, apparently!
We will obviously be sharing our thoughts on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in our next episode (recording tomorrow, released on Wednesday, March 30), but I have some initial thoughts on the movie that I just need to get out of my head since it’s already been three days out from seeing it and I need to process these “out loud,” so to speak. Just to be clear: everything that follows in this post will be my (John’s) opinions alone. I won’t pretend to speak for the other guys!
So, please, check out our upcoming episode #60 on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice for the review from the full group of co-hosts.
SPOILERS FOLLOW. PLEASE DO NOT CONTINUE READING IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN BATMAN v SUPERMAN YET!!
