Following the death of Robin #2, Jason Todd, Batman retired from crimefighting and faded into legend. 10 years later with crime on the rise, Harvey Dent successfully (and supposedly) rehabilitated, and the Mutant gang ravaging the city, an aged Bruce Wayne reluctantly dons the cowl once again to save his city. Join John, Jeff, and Tony as we talk about the trailers for Logan and Guardians of the Galaxy, DC Comics TV properties, DC Rebirth, and Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns! Don’t forget to check out the trailers below.
I’m at work and on my lunch break. Having just read about the massive attack on the U.S. Internet — coupled with the fact that all staff bathrooms are out of order at our school — I thought I’d share 13 0f my favorite “End of the World” movies. I’m sure I’ll forget some that I love, and these aren’t necessarily in order, but here it goes:
1. The Road (2009)
2. Children of Men (2006)
3. Planet of the Apes (1968)
4. Seeking a Friend for the End of the World (2012)
5. Zombieland (2009)
6. Night of the Living Dead (1968)
7. The Matrix (1999)
8. 12 Monkeys (1995)
9. WALL-E (2008)
10. Terminator 2 (1991)
11. Donnie Darko (2001)
12. The War of the Worlds (1953)
13. Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)
NOTE: This post got waaay too long, so I’ll divide it up and release over the next few days. There was a lot on my mind, apparently!
We will obviously be sharing our thoughts on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in our next episode (recording tomorrow, released on Wednesday, March 30), but I have some initial thoughts on the movie that I just need to get out of my head since it’s already been three days out from seeing it and I need to process these “out loud,” so to speak. Just to be clear: everything that follows in this post will be my (John’s) opinions alone. I won’t pretend to speak for the other guys!
So, please, check out our upcoming episode #60 on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice for the review from the full group of co-hosts.
SPOILERS FOLLOW. PLEASE DO NOT CONTINUE READING IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN BATMAN v SUPERMAN YET!!
We apologize that it’s been 8 years since our last episode. We know we have a lot to catch up on, what with it now being 2024 and we can’t explain where we’ve been for all this time. The best we can do is talk about movies… and what better movie from the Time Dilation genre than Flight of the Navigator? Sit down, Navigator. Enjoy!
